Weather Alert in UK Spot On
The met office in the UK issued a weather Alert over the past week due to unusually high temperatures throughout most of the country. It is several years since they issued such an alert, but they were forecasting a heatwave and it happened. Many places saw temperatures of over 30 degrees celcius, especially in the south east, including London. At Wimbledon, where the tennis was being played, players were soaked with perspiration, and frequently had to use the towel to wipe their face and hands. At least by giving the alert it helped people to prepare as well as they could to get plenty of cold drinks in, and plan their journeys better.
