Why is my Voice Lower in the Morning?

This is a very common question among those that are seeking information about how to lower your voice.  You may have notices that your voice seems lower when you wake up in the morning.  Well, you are not imagining things as this is indeed true.  During the night, your vocal cords expand.  This expansion increase the volume of the voice box, which in turn lowers the pitch of your voice.  You may also find that your voice is lower the day after you yell.  This is for the same reason - swelling.  Unfortunately, once you wake up your vocal cords shrink back to normal size, making your voice’s pitch increase.
