It seems as thought the 12 month free line rental deal may have had its day! Whilst free line deals remain popular with customers who have learned how to make a successful claim for thier cashback by redemption, many more have ended up paying more for their phone than they would have on a standard contract.
Today, instant cash back deals are proving more popular as there is no risk to to the customer. As they are given the money at point of sale, there are no issues with failing to claim, or making an incorrect claim, as there are with 12 months free line rental deals.
Of course, it is not possible to get a free phone using this method, but, it is a good compromised, and, would probably allow you to get the equivalent of 4 or 6 months free line rental.
