Animals Play Too
For his birthday, my son got a small gerbil, who he named Frank. Frank is a cute little gerbil, but he had some habits that we didn’t quite understand. He would go into the corner of his habitat and scratch at it with his front legs as if to try and escape. We added more cedar shavings to his habitat, thinking maybe his feet were bothering him, but it made no difference. We checked on Johns Blog and as suggested we bought a small plastic wheel for the gerbil to run on. It worked like a charm, and now Frank runs happily on his wheel instead of scratching.
