Refresh Your Spirit With an Ofuro Bathtub
One of the reasons why I feel the Japanese practice of bathing in ofuro bathtubs is so rejuvenating to both body and mind is that the tubs themselves are designed for soaking only. Even though you are completely immersed in the water (which is typically hot), the cleansing process is not done with soap. Rather, it is the time spent in the ofuro that cleanses. The warm and soothing water relaxes tired muscles; the stillness of the water settles the mind; and the peace alone tends to wash away many of the stresses of the day. These tubs are small only in size while their refreshing qualities are large.
