Age: Mind Over Matter?
My mother always used to say, “Age is just mind over matter - if you don’t mind, it don’t matter”.
This usually got a chuckle, but she really believed it and lived it.
As she got older, she accepted her limitations, cheerfully moved into a group home, and made lots of new friends.
While she and the girls accepted the necessity for things like wheelchairs, walkers, and handicap bathtubs, they never thought of themselves as really handicapped.
Mom and her “posse” partied on right up until the end. She was telling jokes the night she went to sleep for the last time.
