Does Affordable Health Insurance Mean Managed Care?
Many people will tell you that when we talk about affordable health insurance we are talking about managed care, but is this always the case? The answer really depends on your own personal position. Certainly the most affordable form of health insurance is a group health plan which is typically offered by employers to their employees. However, managed care plans may well be a good low cost form of cover but they can also be very restrictive and, in many circumstances, you may find that you have to go outside of your plan to get the cover you need and this can drive costs up considerably. So, while managed care will be the most affordable form of health insurance for many people, for others it may not be the best option and there may be that seemingly more expensive options which actually work out cheaper in the long run.
