Smoky Mountains Hoars Frost

It was a Friday morning one early March day a couple of years ago.  My wife and I were on our way to the Smoky Mountains for the weekend.  As we made our way up the New Found Gap road the temperature dropped a few degrees as we climbed higher.  The views were spectacular as they always are.  As we rounded the final curve to the New Found Gap parking lot we saw an awesome sight.  The wind was blowing hard straight across the in front of us.  Everything was covered in pure white frost.  Hoars Frost is what it is called.  I jumped out of the car with camera in hand and managed to grab a few shots of a rail fence and frost covered trees behind it.
